Dr. Pena has asked all teachers to use tennis balls on the bottom of our classroom chairs to help keep our floors from getting scratched. I currently have collected all tennis balls I need to cover the chairs in my room. I now need someone who is willing to cut holes or slits into the tennis balls so that they can be placed on the feet of the chairs. I have heard that using a 1" drill bit works great. The old fashioned x to the tennis ball works as well. Please let me know with an e-mail or a comment if you are interested in cutting tennis balls for our chairs. Thanks!!

As part of your child's school supplies this year, we asked for two yellow folders. We asked for two folders because we hope to tape them together with fun colored duct tape to create a cheaper version of the folder on the left. This super folder with four pockets will help your students take their writing through the writing process. I am looking for a volunteer or three to tape the two folders together and put labels on the pockets. I have the folders, labels, and duct tape. So, all the supplies will be provided for you as well as examples. All you need to do is put them together. This is a great at-home project for anyone willing to help, but unable to come up to school during the day. I can send home all the materials with students. Please let me know if you would be willing to tape some folders together for us. You can either e-mail me or leave a comment here. Thanks in advance for your support!!

Parents, please join us for a back to school night. On this night you will be given lots of important information about policies, schedules, activity fees, 4th grade events, field trips, STAAR testing, and the curriculum that your child will be responsible for knowing by the end of the year. Beginning at 6:30pm sharp, there will be a short presentation in the cafeteria by the administration and then parents will be invited up to the classrooms. Mrs. Cruz's class and Mrs. Spencer's class will be meeting together in Mrs. Cruz's classroom. We hope to see you there!

Prior to Back to School Night, you are invited to attend a GT informational meeting from 6:00-6:30pm in the library. Mrs. Lentz, Baldwin's GT Advocate, will be giving information about the GT program at Baldwin to anyone interested in learning more.

This week we explained to the students when they would have had a paw taken away, but we did not start taking paws away until Wednesday of this week. Most students will lose more paws in the first few weeks than they do all year. This is because students are testing their limits and learning the boundaries. If we feel like there are specific issues to address with students, we will let you know.
